Easy Butter Chicken | Chicken Makhni

This easy 15-minute butter chicken or chicken makhni only has a handful of ingredients and tastes phenomenal. Although the dish traditionally uses butter and heavy cream, I substitute Desi ghee for the butter and cashew cream for the heavy cream. I will share the traditional recipe as well as modifications. I use @malkafoods Tandoori masala in this recipe to give it a bit more of a spicy taste. It’s a super quick and easy recipe, I hope you enjoy making it as much as I do!

Ingredients:
2 lbs boneless chicken breast – small pieces
2 tbs @malkafoods Tandoori chicken masala
1/2 tsp Kashmiri mirch
1/2 tsp red chili powder
3 tbsp kasuri methi
1/3 cup butter or Desi ghee (can also use plant based oil)
2 cups heavy whipping cream or cashew cream
2-3 8oz cans of tomato sauce (depending on how much gravy you want)

Directions:
Heat butter or ghee
Fry chicken until white and cooked
Add tandoori masala, red chili powder, and kashmiri mirch
Alternate one can of tomato sauce with cashew cream or dairy cream followed by another can of tomato sauce then cashew cream/dairy cream
Add in kasuri methi
Cover on low heat for 4-5 minutes until chicken is cooked all the way through
