WELCOME TO HUNGRY BROWN GIRL!
never be hungry, always stay happy
Hello to all of you wonderful readers! My name is Azra and I have created this small space to showcase some of the most influential Pakistani and South Asian/Fusion recipes from my life. The beauty of cooking is that it is an art and there is no perfect way to make one dish. I value my time being a busy working mom so my recipes are the quick versions of longer recipes that you may have shied away from in the past because they were too complicated. These are all my mom’s recipes (with some adjustments) because she has been the number one force and my role model throughout all this so don’t worry, they are Mummy approved! I believe in carrying on our culture and traditions but adapting to the times, so if you’re in a pinch, living a certain lifestyle (gluten free, vegan, dairy free, micronutrient dense), I have something for you. Desi food is so rich in micronutrients and antioxidants and has played a huge role in my own healing journey so I will showcase this for you in my recipes. I hope you enjoy making these recipes for your loved ones as much as I have. Through the power of family and community, we have the potential to learn from one another to bring us all closer together, that is the driving force behind why I created Hungry Brown Girl.
